Charmain Carr who Starred In 1965 Classic, Sound of Music, as the eldest Von Trapp daughter, Dies At 73 - Fab-book

Charmaine Carr is the first Von Trapp Sibling to die. Reports say she died from a rare form of dementia at the age of 73 in Los Angeles. She first came to limelight when she starred in the 1965 classic, Sound of Music.

She played the role of Liesl Von Trapp at 21, the eldest daughter in the musical family and became known for singing one of its most famous songs, 'I Am Sixteen Going On Seventeen'

After Carr left the movie business, she started a design company called Charmain Carr design and also went on to write two books on her experience as a Von Trapp titled "Forever Liesl and Letters to Liesl"

She leaves behind two daughters, Jennifer and Emily, and four grand children Emma, Tucker, Derek and William. She also leaves behind four siblings; Darlene,Sharon, Brian and Michael.

20th Century Fox paid tribute to the star, writing on Twitter: "The Sound of Music lost a beloved member of the family w/ the passing of Charmian Carr. She will be forever missed"

Julie Andrews, Christopher and all the other Von Trapp kids are still alive.
